Canopy Health has officially launched and is pursuing its stated mission of improving the health and wellbeing of the entire Bay Area population through refreshingly clear, human care. Bay Area residents now have access to a new and exciting healthcare option that offers increased access, transparent coverage, and more personalized care. Best of all, this new health organization is owned by the people who understand Bay area residents’ healthcare needs best: physicians and hospitals.

The alliance is composed of nearly 4,000 providers, 15 award-winning hospitals, and numerous renowned care centers across 7 counties in the Bay Area. These close connections between primary care providers, hospitals, medical groups, and academic medical centers result in convenient in-network access for all Canopy Health members.

“Canopy Health was formed to unify the outstanding physicians and hospitals that we have here in the Bay Area and to strengthen the health and wellness of our region and the communities we serve,” said Joel Criste, CEO of Canopy Health.

Affiliates within the network have extensive experience with successful care models that demonstrate improved quality with lower costs. This efficiency leads to savings that can then be passed along to consumers in the form of lower premiums. The organization accepts risk for health plan enrollees, which places the focus on keeping patients as healthy as possible and providing them with quality care in the appropriate setting.

“We’re really dedicated to the idea of transparent care and coverage,” said Denise Vance-Rodrigues, Director of Business Development for Canopy Health. “The goal is for our members to have an honest and effective healthcare experience without any surprises.”

Several launch parties are scheduled for September and a second webinar — which will be presented for Bay Area health insurance brokers and consist of a more in-depth review of the health plans being offered through Canopy Health carrier partners — will be held on August 31. For more information about attending any of these events or about the Canopy Health alliance, please contact Denise Vance-Rodrigues.
