John Muir Health Employees Can Now Join Canopy Health

Canopy Health is excited to welcome John Muir Health’s thousands of employees to our community! Beginning in 2019, all eligible John Muir Health employees can become Canopy Health members. Keep reading to learn more about this exciting development and our easy enrollment process.

John Muir Health Employees Can Enjoy Affordable Premiums and Exceptional Care

As of January 1, 2019, John Muir Health employees’ health plan options include UnitedHealthcare’s SignatureValue Advantage plan. This HMO plan offers the same level of coverage as a traditional HMO plan, but with a more affordable premium. Just as importantly, it also gives John Muir Health employees access to the Canopy Health alliance.

This means that more than 10,000 employees and their dependents can become members in a healthcare organization that’s revolutionizing Bay Area wellness. Our alliance includes nearly 5,000 physicians, 18 award-winning hospitals, and dozens of outpatient care centers. Members benefit from carefully coordinated healthcare, streamlined referrals to any specialist within the network, and innovative Video Visits options.  

Now, John Muir Health employees can easily treat with providers within their organization, but also have access to other top physicians and care centers in the Canopy Health alliance, which spans eight Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma.

Joining Canopy Health Is Simple

To join Canopy Health, John Muir Health employees must enroll in the SignatureValue Advantage plan. Next, they simply need to select a primary care physician (PCP) that is part of the Canopy Health alliance. These providers are part of Hill Physicians Medical Group, John Muir Physician Network, Meritage Medical Network, and Santa Clara County IPA (SCIPPA).

Once they choose an alliance PCP, they automatically become Canopy Health members. They will quickly get access to the Canopy Health member portal, the MyCanopyHealth app, and our simplified referral program.

Canopy Health Empowers its Members and Improves Their Healthcare Decisions

In addition to broad access to care, Canopy Health gives its members a series of powerful tools that educate and empower them. Launched in 2019, the alliance’s revolutionary member portal and MyCanopyHealth app let members track their healthcare expenses, estimate the costs associated with certain routine procedures, and identify the best possible providers for their specific needs.

Canopy Health members also receive coordinated care that is overseen by their PCP. This encourages consistency, cost-effective care, and a focus on preventive services. We believe that this improves our members’ health outcomes and fosters a sense of accountability.
